Background
•Considering the high prevalence of anemia among all age groups in Haryana, Hon’ble
Chief Minister of Haryana has announced the scheme “ATAL ABHIYAAN” - Assuring Total
Anemia Limit - Abhiyaan” to reduce anemia by implementing 6 x 6 x 6 strategy on the
tune of Anemia Mukt Bharat.

•Anemia is widespread across most age groups in the state. > Requiring Universal
Approach.

• In line with Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB)
guidelines, state of Haryana launched
ATAL Abhiyaan (Assuring Total Anemia
Limit) as Anemia Mukt Haryana
strategy in March 2019 to reduce
anemia prevalence in the state.

01 Hb Testing and Treatment

Apart from routine OPDs, at all health facilities- DH,


SDH, CHC, PHC, Adolescent Friendly Health Clinics
(AFHCs), HWC level dedicated anemia clinics for Hb
screening and treatment of all age groups including
six target beneficiaries under AMH. At Point of Care
Testing (PoCT) sites, all age groups (not only limited
to AMH beneficiaries) to be tested for Hb screening

• Under AMH to combat the prevalence of Anemia, District Panchkula has started doing the HB testing of all the OPD patients coming
to the Civil Hospital/CHC/PHC/Dispensaries and Anemia Elimination

• Week is celebrated quarterly for a week time. During the Anemia Elimination Week celebrated in November22, total HB testing of
19652 patients were done.
