What is gender discrimination?

Gender discrimination means discrimination based on a

person’s gender or sex which more often affects girls and
women., because of gender discrimination girls and womens
do not have oportunities as boys and men for education,
meaningful career, political influence and economic
advancement.
Causes of gender discrimination :

 Lack to education : girls are not educated on the same level as boys
 Lack of employment equality : women doesn’t have same legal work rights as men.
 Job Segregatiom:there‘s an inherent belief that men are simply better equipped to handle certain jobs.
 Lack Of legal protection : over 1 billion women don’t have legal protection against domestic sexual
violence or domestic economic violence. Both have a significant impact women ability to thrive and kive in
freedom.
 Lack of bodily autonomy many women around the world dO not have authority over there own bodies or
when they become parents.
 Lack of religious freedom : when religious freedom attacked women suffer the most.
 Lack of political representation : women are still grossly underrepresented in government and the political
process.
 Societal mindsets : Overall mindset of the societyhas a significant impact on gender inequality.
Steps to prevent gender discrimination
 Equal valued decision or opinion of a women or a girl as men.
 Make education gender sensitive .
 Raise aspirations of girls amd their parents on of the key strategies must be to change how
girls, families and Societies imagine what girls can be or can do.
 Empower mothers when mothers afe educated and empowered to make choices in lives, they
enable their daughters to go to school
 Give equal value to women’s work.
 Get women into power, participation of women in local, regional and national legislation as
empower change agents.
 Violences should be stopped.
My views :
 We are all influenced by gender. Gender norms tell us what is appropriate for girls and
boys, women and men to do in our society. Because of stereotypes, girls and women are
often less valued and have lower status. Gender discrimination is a basic mindset of the
society. People didn’t try to understand or ready to accept the women or girl equal as men .
Like chimamanda ngozi adichie said “ if we do something over and over again it becomes
normal, if we see same thing over and over again its become normal. If we keep seeing
men as head of corporation, it start to seem natural thet only men be a head of corporation.
If something is continued till now as it was earlier its doesn’t mean that’s right, we need to
change our mindset according to present scenario. Now we need to be feminists.
Sometimes we girls discriminate ourself, because of society, we need to stop put a question
mark on our freedom.! Its time to change the minset of ourself and of this society.
Conclusion

beginning to speak up or talk back in a constructive way to expose gender inequality in politics

search into the topic institutionalised sexism in politics have introduced the term undoing
