so & such that?
*are used to express cause and effect
(menyampaikan hubungan sebab akibat antara
dua klausa)
sangat/begitu....sehingga.....
*Gadis itu SANGAT/BEGITU cantik
SEHINGGA pandangan saya tak lepas dari nya
1.So ...that
... So + Adjective/Adverb + That + Result
Example
• I was so sleepy that I couldn’t keep my eyes open
2. It was so windy that we couldn’t go sailing
3.You are so beautiful that I can’t get my eyes off you
4.This machine works so loudly that I have a headache.
5.She sings so beautifully that I feel so refreshed
2.Such ...that
...+ Such + Adjective + Noun + That + Result
Example:
1.It’s such a great movie that I watched several times.
2.She is such a charming woman that everybody stares at
her.
3.It is such a nice day that we had better go out.
4. She has such beautiful dresses that she always amazes
everyone
So + Many/Few + Plural Countable
Nouns + That + Result
• That man had so many ties that he could not decide which
to wear. (Pria itu memiliki sangat banyak dasi sehingga
dia bingung menentukan yang mana untuk dipakai.)
• She has so few shoes that she always uses the same shoes.
(Dia mempunyai sangat sedikit sepatu sehingga dia selalu
menggunakan sepatu yang sama.)
So + Much/Little + Uncountable Nouns + That + Result
2. He got really drunk at the party last night and behaved like ... idiot! (such / such an)
3. They used to have ... fun together; now all they do is argue. (so much / so many)
4. The bar was really packed last night. There were ... people there! (so many / so much)
