 Research is important in many spheres of life, not only in
academics. The ability to think critically and analytically,
as well as to effectively communicate, are all talents that
students develop through research and are essential in
today's global society. The knowledge that underpins
innovation across a wide range of fields is ultimately built

Context Outline  The Department of Education (DepEd) promotes, fosters,
and sustains a research culture among the country's
primary and secondary schools through a number of
initiatives (DepEd, 2017). Two (2) new Practical
Research subjects have been added to the Expanded
Basic Education (K–12) Curriculum as part of this.
Qualitative and quantitative research are currently taught
to senior high school students.
 Students aren't used to conducting research, therefore
several elements, like their attitudes, may have an impact
on how much they value and contribute to the field.
Several studies highlighted the fact that students'
attitudes about a particular subject can significantly affect
both the learning process and academic success.
Rationale and  Also, it was discovered that students' opinions and

amount of time, effort, and dedication they chose to
devote to the course. As a result, it's important to identify
and comprehend the attitudes of Senior High School
students toward research in order to improve research
output and develop new pedagogies for teaching and
conducting research at the senior high school level.
 This research aims to answer the following questions:
 1. What is the attitude of Senior High School students
of Bilogo Integrated National High School toward
research in general?
 2. What are the challenges Senior High School
Students encounter in doing their practical research
Research subjects?
Questions  3. Is there a significant relationship between the
grades of the Senior High School students in their
practical research subjects and their attitudes in doing
research?
 4. What action plan may be proposed to help the
students develop a positive attitude toward
conducting research?
