What is a Grouped
Frequency Distribution
Table
Steps in Constructing
Grouped Frequency
Distribution Table
Steps
1. Find the Range (r). The range is the difference of the highest score
minus the lowest score.
2. Find the number of classes (k). A class is a grouping or category.
Statisticians said that the ideal number of classes is between 5 and 15.
Formula to be use: k=
Note: All of the answers if with decimal must be written on the next
higher number.
3. Find the class interval. Class interval or simply interval, is the size of
each class.
4. Determine your starting point.
5. Determine the class frequency.
Additional part of the Grouped FDT
1. Class Mark. It is the middle value of Class

2. Class Boundaries. They often described as the true

limits.

3. Cumulative frequency.
