    Mexico has become an important player in engineering and research and development for the aerospace industry. It ranks first in manufacturing among Latin American countries and has seen major investments from aerospace companies since 1992. Mexico has also built up a large talent pool of engineers, manufacturing, and construction workers who are tertiary educated, with enrollments in these fields growing each year since 2005. Mexico has created a National Flight Plan to further develop its aerospace industry, with milestones including manufacturing Mexico's first fully domestic aircraft and becoming the aerospace manufacturing hub of North America. Key strategic projects in the plan include developing landing gear, turbines, and composite materials as well as creating an MRO excellence hub and aeronautic training center.
