rental only?
 G 3: how many groups of tourist have bought tickets for
cottage rental?
 G 4: how many groups of tourist have bought tickets for boat
rental?
 G 5: how many groups of tourist have bought tickets for
cottage or boat rental?

Illutrates in a Venn Diagram
ANSWER
1. (C)=5+3 = 8
2. (B)= 12+3=15
3.
4.
5.
6.
POSSIBILITY
 the condition of fact of being possible
Something that might happen

VS
PROBABILITY
A branch of Mathematics concerned with the study of
probabilities
The quality or state of being likely to occur
The ratio of the number of outcomes that produce a given
event to the total number of possible outcomes.
A scene from the story on Zaido’s gala date
REMEMBER

(A U B) = (A)+(B) - (A∩B)
(A∩B) = common elements
of Both A or B
Take note
 Union: P(A OR B), P(A Ս B)
 P(A Ս B) = (A Ս B) / (A Ս B)
 Intersection: P(A AND B), P(A∩B)
 P(A∩B) = (A∩B) / (A Ս B)
THAT IS WHY

• (Cha-cha) =15+12 = 27
• (waltz) = 13 +12 = 25
• (cha-cha Ս waltz)= 15+12+13=40
Or 27+25 – 12 = 40
• (cha-cha ∩ waltz) = 12
THAT IS WHY
• P(cha-cha Ս waltz)

• P(cha-cha ∩ waltz)

or 0.3 or 30%
