Postures-
Posture and how we carry your self tells a lot about you.
How you sit ,stand ,walk and hold your head not only indicates your
current mood, but also your personality in general.
For example: if you cross your arms while standing, you indicate that you
may be closed off and defensive.
Gesture-
Gesture are physical movement of hands, arms, legs, head etc..,
Examples of gestures are:
Facial expressions-
The face tells a lot about feelings .

communicate most clearly your attitudes, feelings and emotions.
Few such emotions can be conveyed through facial expressions are

speech.
3. Pitch: The highness or lowness of vocal tone.
HOW TO INTERPRET
BODY LANGUAGE IN
NON-VERBAL
COMMUNICATION
How to read body language:
Pay attention to inconsistencies: Non
verbal communication should
strengthen what is being said , i.e., the
person may say one thing but the body
is conveying something else.
Eye Contact: Is the person
maintaining good eye contact- If so, is
it overly intense or just right?
Watch for hand movements i.e.,
observe different types of hand signals.
Posture and Gesture:
Is their body relaxed
or stiff and immobile?
Are their shoulders
tense and raised, or
relaxed?
Examine the position
of the arms
