INTRODUCTION
• The Tijuca National Park was created in 1961 covers an area of 3953 hectares, its purpose is
to preserve the native fauna and conserve the diversity of the place.

SHORT HISTORY
• Tijuca National Park, located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was created by Emperor Pedro II of Brazil. It
was inaugurated on July 6, 1961 and became one of the first national parks in Brazil.
ANIMALS
• Animals, pumas, coaties, ocelots, opossums, multitude of reptiles such as rattlesnakes,
howler monkeys, varieties of birds such as toucans, eagles and amphibians

• Outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, climbing, and bird watching.
• As well as panoramic views of the city and the coast from several viewpoints.
RECOMMENDATION
Plan your visit before you go because the park is extensive.
