INSTRUMENTS used in gamelan
Saron- is a xylophone with five to nine keys. It uses
wooden mallet called tabuh.

Gambang- is a xylophone with twenty-one keys


made from wood. It also used to combine with
saron

Bonang- are kettle-like instruments arranged


according to their pitch from the highest to lowest.

Gender – an instrument that has keys made of


bronze. It is played using padded mallets

Gongs – support the fixed melody

Kendang- is a two-headed drum used to keep the


tempo. It signals the transitions of the entire
ensemble.
