INTERNET PROTOCOL)
IT IS A TYPE OF TECHNOLOGY THAT LETS YOU TO MAKE FREE, OR VERY
LOW COST, CALLS OVER THE INTERNET. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT
NETWORK OR EQUIPMENT THE PERSON YOU’RE CALLING USES; VOIP
LETS YOU CALL ANY PHONE IN THE WORLD - AND YOU CAN BE REACH
BY ANY PHONE.
Internal and External Call over VOIP
• This is the way it normally works.An external caller (trunk group) can
be routed to an IVR, You can choose where their calls goes. An
Internal caller would have to dial the IVR number to reach it, just as
they can dial another extention , by default.
THE TCIP MODEL
• THE INTERNET PROTOCOL SUITE, COMMONLY KNOWN AS TCP/IP,
• is the set of communication protocols used in the internet and
similar computer networks. The current foundational protocols in
the suite are the Transmission Control Protocol and the Internet
Protocol, as well as the User Datagram Protocol.

• The public switched telephone network provides insfrastracture and
services for public telecommunication .The PSTN is the agregate of
the world’s circuit-switched telephone networks that are operated by
national , regional, or local telephony operators .
• A public switched telephone network is a combination of telephone
network used worldwide, including TELEPHONE LINE, FIBER OPTIC
CABLES , SWITCHING CENTERS , CELLULAR NETWORKS, SATELLITES
and CABLE SYSTEMS. A PSTN lets users make landline telephone calls
to one another.
