Rigging
Rigging refers to the process of securing loads and attaching them to lifting
equipment. It involves the use of slings, chains, ropes, and hooks to ensure the load

configurations vary depending on the type of load, equipment, and environment.
Types of Lifting
Manual Lifting

mechanical force, such as hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical power, to perform
lifting tasks more efficiently and with less physical effort compared to manual
lifting
Equipment's used for Mechanical Lifting
• Cranes (e.g., tower cranes, mobile cranes, overhead cranes)
• Forklifts
• Hoists (e.g., chain hoists, electric hoists)
• Winches
• Elevators
• Scissor lifts
• Aerial work platforms (e.g., cherry pickers, boom lifts)
