Like other conditionals, the structure
of the third conditional consists of two
clauses: an if clause and the main
clause that is the result of the situation
in the past.
 ESTRUCTURA GRAMATICAL
Afirmativa : if + sujeto + verbo past perfect + complemento, sujeto + would/wouldn’t + have + verbo
en pasado participio + complemento

Negativa : If + sujeto + verbo en past perfect negativo + complemento, sujeto + would/ wouldn’t +
have + verbo en past participe

Interrogativa if + sujet + verb past perfect + complemento, would + sujeto + have + verb past pasticipe

The condition clause has the following structure:

• If + subject + past perfect,

The second clause is the result clause and is formed with:

• Subject + would + have + past participe

EXAMPLES:
NEGATIVA: para formar el thrid condicional en negativo, la negación debe incluirse en
Ambas clausulas añadiendo not después had ( had not ) o de would ( would not ).
Tambien se puede usar las contracciones hadn’t y wouldn’t.

Example: If you hadn’t spoken so loudly she wouldn’t have found out
( si no hubieras hablado tan fuerte, ella no se hubiera dado cuenta )
EXAMPLES:

(¿me habría ayudado si lo hubiera necesitado?)

Might you call her tomorrow?

(¿Tú la podrías llamar mañana?)
