Count nouns
Count nouns are things that you can count.
Count nouns can form plural
Count nouns use the actual verbs’ traits.
Examples:

Non-count nouns

 Non-count nouns do not form
singular or plural

Illnesses: flu, stomachache, fever, cancer

Natural events: rain, wind, storm, snow
Food: drinks, meat, spices, oils, dairy products
There is, there are
Use there is with singular count nouns and with non-
count nouns.
E.g. There’s money in the bank account
 There’s a laptop on the table
Use there are with plural count nouns
E.g. There are a lot of people at the meeting
