• Ethics are moral principles that govern a person’s behaviour
or the conduction of an activity.

• Engineer is an professional person who invent, design,


analyze, build and test machines, complex systems,
structures, gadgets and materials to fulfill functional
objectives and requirements while considering the
limitations imposed by practically safety and cost

Honest:
• Engineer should be honest at all points to the person or organization
he/she is providing services to.
• The agreed standards and expectations should be met according to the
original plans and drawing.
Punctuality:
• engineer should always be in time conscious in all aspects.
• It is a symbol of professionalism
• It demonstrates your willingness to plan and make every effort to
complete your work.
• Being punctual helps an engineer to establish his/her reputation as a
dependable constant worker.

• He or she should be able to create and implement engineering
solutions for a sustainable future
• Be mindful of economic, societal and environmental consequences of
action or projects
• Promote and protect the health, safety and well being of the

• An engineer must navigate the day to day profession to reduce accidents and errors from
occurring.

qualification.

Importance of ethics
• Ethics is an important topic for engineers of every level and field.
• It ensures the engineers to be trusted with projects that impacts the
lives of hundreds of thousand of people.
• It is important in ensuring safety
• It is about making sure the lives we touch with our work are
protected from incompetence and are at the forefront of our minds
• The parts of code of ethics for engineer that deal with honesty and
integrity go back to safety issues.
Conclusion
• the engineering ethics merely call upon our natural sense of morality.
• It presents the proper professional behaviour, and reminds us of our
obligations to act in the best interests not only of our clients, but also
of the environmental goodness.

• In these uncertain economic and political times, it is vital that the


engineering profession retains the confidence of the wider
community. It is in this area that the ethics plays an important role.
