This study employs descriptive technique to examine the

action research competencies and challenges encountered by
teachers in Batangas City during the school year 2022-2023.
Descriptive research is the systematic collection, examining,
categorizing, and tabulating of data concerning present
situations, cause-and-effect relationships, practices, attitudes,
procedures, and trends, followed by appropriate and correct
interpretation of such data with or without statistical treatment
(Dudovskiy, 2015).
METHODOLOGY
Populations and Sampling

respondents are all teachers at Sta.Rita National High School,
Banaba West Integrated School and Tabangao Integrated

needed and the information required for the study. It comprises three (3)
components. The first part is for the respondent profile. The second half is the
respondents' action research scompetencies The thrid part is on the the
respondents' challenges. In conductin action research.
On the second part of the questionnaire, the respondents will be asked to rate
each indicator using a scale of one (1) to four (4) with the following meanings. 4 for
"highly competent," 3 for "competent," 2 for "moderately competent," and 1 for "not
competent".

know if it fits the intended respondents or if there are some questions that
need to be improved before giving it to the actual respondents. Their
response also helped the researcher to verify if it was understandable and
sustainable to the respondent’s needs.
In testing the questionnaire’s reliability, the researcher had subjected
the research instrument to pilot testing. The instrument will be
administered initially to 15 teachers who are not part of the sample.
The results will be treated for reliability and consistency using
Cronbach’s Alpha Statistic.
METHODOLOGY

Division Superintendent of Batangas City to seek approval to
distribute the questionnaires to the teachers. After this, the
researcher will prepare another letter for the school heads of
the public elementary schools to administer the questionnaire

given to the researcher, the researcher proceeds to the
explanation of the nature of the study to the teachers.

the following statistical methods.
Percentage -This tool will be used to treat respondents' profile data.
Weighted Mean-this tool was used to treat the data about the level of
research competencies of the respondents and the challenges
encoundeted encountered by the respondents in conducting research.
T-test This tool will be used to treat the data about a significant difference
between the level of research competencies of the respondents when
grouped demographic profile.
Pearson R- This tool will be used to treat the data about a significant
relatioship between the level of research competencies of the respondents
and the challenges encountered.
