The given pie charts reveal which types of soft drink were the
most popular in 1995 and 2010. In general, it can be clearly seen
that during the 15-year period, bottled water took a significant
share of the drinks market away from other types of drinks,
especially canned soda. In addition, soda had remained the most
popular beverage overall.
According to the charts, bottled water was the only named
segment to grow, and had tripled its share from 11.6 percent in
1995 to 28.5 percent in 2010. By contrast, other named sectors
experienced substantial declines in the distribution of the soft
drinks market. In 1995, the largest share of the market belonged
to fizzy drinks with 48.3 percent. However, by 2010 this figure had
fallen by over 10 percent. Sales of milk witnessed a similar pattern
to that of canned soda, with a drop from 22.8 to 15.9 percent.
The percentage of fruit juice, whose share of the market stood at
14.4 percent in 1995, also fell over the period shown, to just over
10 percent.
