Causative Verb
Causative is used when arranging for someone to do something for us.

I had delivered my groceries. I did it

myself
I had my groceries delivered. I arranged for someone to repair it
Causative verb : HAVE
HAVE

He had fixed his car. (perfect tense)

have sb + V1 : pay or ask someone to do sth

have sth + V3 : pay or ask someone to do sth without mentioning the person

He had the mechanic fix his car.

He had his car fixed.
have sb + V1 have sth + V3

I had the cleaner clean the house. She has her dress ironed.
I had the secretary type the report. I have the window repaired.
I’ll have the students write a short story. I had my birthday cake made in that bakery.
John had Alex clean the bedroom. I had the documents typed.

HAVE

get sb + to v1 : persuade someone to do sth

get sth + V3 : persuade someone to do sth without mentioning the person

She got him to repair the car.

Please get the car repaired.
