What is species extinction?
Extinctions occur when the last individual of a species dies out.
Functional Extinctions occur when individuals remain but the odds of sustainable
reproduction are low i.e. the species is effectively extinct even though
individuals remain
Endangered Species – a species in which the number of individuals falls so low that
extinction is possible
Extinct or not
extinct

RELATING SPECIES EXTINCTION TO ORGANISMS' FAILURE TO ADAPT TO THE ABRUPT CHANGES IN THE
ENVIRONMENT
The extreme heat that the world is feeling or experiencing right now is due to the climate change. We are already experiencing global
warming. Not only humans but also every other organisms including animals and plants. The human race can still thrive in this climate
change, however other organisms like animals and plants hardly adapt to this climate change.
The inability of other organisms to adapt to this change poses great and serious challenge and a problem to the environment. Some if not
all organisms, hardly adapt to the abrupt changes in the environment, thus resulting to extinction. Extinction happens because organisms
cannot withstand the change. For example, global warming, some animals do not thrive in a hot environment and because animals are
not prepared to this change, the tendency is they will fail to adapt. If animals fail to adapt, animals die.
