Born in February 21, 1972 (Jakarta).

She is an Indonesian social activist, UNIVERSITY OF
anthropologist and book writer. From a AMSTERDAM
young age she likes to going adventure.
 Sokola Rimba
Sokola Rimba is a non-formal educational
institution founded by Butet Manurung, start
from 2003. She teaches for the Orang Rimba
(Kubu Tribe) who live in the Bukit Dua Belas
National Park.

She teaches the Orang Rimba to reading,

counting and drawing. The reason she wants to
teach is so that Orang Rimba couldn’t be easily
deceived.
 Sokola Rimba
 Until now, Sokola Rimba was changed its name to Sokola Institute.
 Has pioneered up to 17 programs throughout Indonesia and has
provided benefits to more than 15,000 rural communities to be able
to receive formal education.
 Sokola Rimba has spread to 16 regions, including Flores, Halmahera,
Bulukumba, Pulau Besar, Aceh, Yogyakarta, Makassar, Klaten and
Sumba, etc.
