MITIGATION WHEN AN EARTHQUAKE OCCURS:

If in a building:

• - Protect your body and head from

falling debris by taking cover under a table

• - Find the safest place from rubble and shaking

• - Run outside the building if it is still possible.


If outside a building or open area:
- Avoid nearby buildings such as buildings, electric poles, trees, etc.
- Pay attention to the footing, avoid if there is a crack in the ground.
If you're driving a car:
- Exit, get off and stay away from the car avoid in case of shift or fire
- Take mitigation steps when in an open area.
If you live or are at the beach:
- Stay away from the beach to avoid tsunami hazard.
If you live in a mountainous area:
- Avoid areas where avalanches may occur.
