Project Approaches

•Based on the parameters set in the scenario
and the graphs aid, our team has decided an
agile approach would be the best fit for this
project. The biggest factors being ease of
accessibility throughout the project's life,
sponsor involvement and the small team's
level of experience.
Team
When considering how to approach our project, we
contemplated a few key elements. The team assigned to the
project is made up of software engineers, tech operations
directors, and software quality assurance personnel. Each has a Quality
subgroup under them made up of developers and user Software
Assurance
experience designers. This small group is highly experienced in Engineers
their specific roles and can rest knowing the sponsor trusts their Personnel
skill. The sponsor is available for clarification on any day but is Tech
primarily present for testing feedback once a working prototype
is available. For these reasons, the agile approach seems to be Operations
the best fit. With a small, experienced team and a decent Directors
amount of consumer feedback always available, the team can
work independently and relatively unstructuredly. They are
aware of the end goal but have been given a good amount of
trust and can create freely.
When deciding how we want the culture to play a part
into the project, we're focused on an approach based
around trust in teammates and their decision making.
Due to our smaller team on this project, we felt as
though we should give them our trust in the project.
This group of individuals have the knowledge and
Culture experience necessary for the project. We also must
factor in our team decision making. Collectively, we
feel this project requires everyone to play a part in the
decision-making process. When we factor in both of
these characteristics, it is easy to understand why we
feel that the buy-in is easy, as everyone has a part to
play in this project.
For this project, the sponsor has given
plenty of freedom in the decision
making, but would prefer to be involved
in any functionality issues or quality
testing. The delivery for this project is
likely to change due to the developing AI
engine. Our team will inform the
Project sponsor of any delays or issues which
will require more funds or manpower to
resolve. The changes to this project are
going to be high due to wanting the
application to mirror actual social media
and news outlets.
Step 4: Group
Involvement

Our team worked together to brainstorm

the best scenario for this recommendation.
Each person contributed to the slides and
the design process. We produced the
decisions by talking through each idea
together. One problem we had was
working out the best time for everyone to
connect about the assignment. We solved
the problem by keeping an open line of
communication to find the best time for
everyone.
