What does chemical reaction mean?
• It is a chemical change
that occurs when two or
more substances
combine to form a new
substance.
• It is a process in which one
or more substances, the
reactants, are converted
to one or more different
substances, products.
Collision Theory
States that atoms, ions, and
molecules must collide with
each other in order to react.
Temperature
Concentration
(dissolved reactants)
Pressure (gaseous
reactants)
Surface area (solid
reactants)
Catalyst
At low temperatures
the reaction that
generates the electric
current proceeds more
slowly than at higher
temperatures.
This means batteries are
less likely to deliver enough
current to meet the
demand.
