When do we need put casualty in recovery position?

If a person is unconscious but


breathing and has no other
life-threatening conditions
Why do we need put casualty in recovery position?

• To keep the airway open


• Allows fluids to drain from the
mouth
• Prevent their tongue and cause
choking
Kneel beside the casualty.
Remove their accessories and
object such as spectacles and
mobile phone.
Make sure both of the
casualty legs are straight

Place the arm that is


nearest to you 90 degree
upwards
Hold the back of their hand that is furthest to you on
their cheek. Lift their knee by pulling only their pants.
Roll them towards you and
tilt their leg to a 90 degree
Tilt their head and lift
their chin to maintain an
open airway
