This document discusses the major terrestrial (land) ecosystems. It identifies six biomes: Arctic tundra, coniferous forest, deciduous forest, desert, grassland, and rainforest. For each biome, it provides a brief definition and lists some key terms to remember about the biome's climate, vegetation, and other characteristics. The purpose is to introduce the major terrestrial biomes and some of their distinguishing features.
