Indus valley civilisation came
around 2600 BC and developed
as a civilisation

INDUS VALLEY CIVILISATION
When Indus civilization was discovered it
helped us in answering against the Britshers of
their superior culture and civilization
There have been evidences of trade in
Mesopotamian civilisation with Indus
civilisation which proved IVC as a urban
civilisation.
Indus valley civilization
term was firstly coined
by Sir John Marshall
Include areas like
Afghanistan in the
Punjab ,Sindh &
Baluchistan; North
western province of
Pakistan & Jammu,
Punjab, Haryana,
Rajasthan, Gujarat and
western Uttar Pradesh in
India.

Area
covered- 680,000
to 800,000 sq. km
In 1921, Indian archaeologist DAYA RAM SAHNI did an
excavation of Harappa

The birth of Indus Valley was contemporary to


Chinese, Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamian
civilizations.
