Frame/Body/Aero -- System/Component Descriptions
• Analysis
– Torsional Stiffness
The main objective in relation to the torsional stiffness of the chassis was to increase rigidity in the powertrain
region and at the transmission anchor point, since in the past project there was a structural failure in this point.
Comparison table witch previous chassis:
Results obtained:
• 10.56% increase in weight;
• 5.96% increase in chassis stiffness;
Front View Rear View
• 18.8% increase in stiffness in the powertrain region.
Through the real test, we obtained a deviation of 2.12% in relation to the simulation.

Frame/Body/Aero -- System/Component Descriptions
• Successes and Failures
– During the design process of the car, some issues were identified and used as key
points to ensure the functionality of the chassis:
• Fixing the engine was a problem, as when we removed the engine from the chassis the
brackets misaligned. So it was necessary to do them again.
• During manufacturing, problems with the jig design were encountered, such as difficult to
position tubes, imprecise fittings, and lack of structural rigidity. These points will be improved
in future projects.
• The Torsional Stiffness Simulation obtained a more realistic result, compared to previous
years.
• There were no deviations above 4 mm at the suspension points.
