The Keyboard
THE KEYBOARD

The keyboard is one of the input


devices to your computer. It allows
you to type in letters, numbers
and other characters.

5. Booster Keys

7. Enter Keys
8. Esc Keys
9. Delete and Backspace Keys
LETTER KEYS

The letter keys are used mostly


types words, especially on documents.
The positions of the letter keys in
the keyboard are the same as an
ordinary typewriter.
They represent the letters A, B, C up to Z
NUMBER KEYS

The number keys on a keyboard,


typically arranged in a row at
the top, are used to input
numeric characters and perform numerical functions.
They are labeled from 0 to 9
FUNCTION KEYS

The letter F indicates these keys are


function keys, they will perform specific
tasks when pressed. These keys are
located at the top row of
the keyboard , they labeled from F1 to F12
SPECIAL KEYS

Special keys provide additional functionality and


convenience when using a keyboard, allowing
you to navigate applications, modify text,
and activate various commands or shortcuts.
BOOSTER KEYS

Booster keys, such as Alt, Ctrl, and Shift, are


modifier keys commonly found on computer
keyboards. Using these keys with another
key does something different from what
it usually does.
OTHER KEYS

Other keys on a keyboard are


keys that represent various special characters
or symbols beyond alphanumeric characters. These
keys allow users to input a
wide range of symbols and punctuation marks.
Example: +×÷=!@#$%*.,&_? and many others.
Direction Keys

Direction keys, also known as arrow


keys, are a set of keys
on a computer keyboard that allow
you to move the cursor or
navigate within a document or user interface.
These include: Up, Down, Left, and Right arrows.
Enter Key

The Enter Key may be labelled


Enter, Return or it may have
a long-left pointing arrow. Pressing
this key will move the cursor
to the start of the next line.
Esc Key

Esc is short for Escape. This


key is used to stop or
cancel what you are doing now.
It can be used to back
out from the programs.
Delete and Backspace Keys

These keys delete a single character


on the screen. The Delete key
erases the character where the cursor/
insertion point is currently positioned while
the Backspace key erases the character
on the left of the cursor.
