INTRODUCTIO
losses. In the context of ahmedabad, gujarat, this
issue is particularly pressing. Ahmedabad, as a N
rapidly growing metropolitan area, faces challenges
related to urban development, traffic management,
and road safety.

This research project aims to delve into the problem

of road accidents in ahmedabad, shedding light on
the key factors contributing to these accidents.
Understanding the causes and circumstances
surrounding road accidents is essential for devising
effective strategies for prevention and safety
enhancement. From article analysing the factors
contributing to road accidents in ahmedabad I got to
known that ahmedabad also have accident factor

OBJECTIVE OF RESEARCH
The primary objective of this research is to comprehensively
analyse the factors that lead to road accidents in Ahmedabad. By
gaining insights into these factors, we aim to develop strategies
and recommendations for improving road safety in the city.
RESEARCH QUESTION
1] What are the major factors contributing to road accidents in Ahmedabad?

2] Are there specific locations or intersections that are more prone to accidents,
and if so, why?

3] How do weather conditions, road infrastructure, and traffic management affect

road safety in Ahmedabad?

4] Are there any patterns or trends in the types of vehicles involved in accidents?

5] How can the findings of this research be used to reduce road accidents in
Ahmedabad?
POSSIBLE HYPOTHESIS:
H1 >High traffic density, especially during peak hours, is likely to contribute to a
higher number of road accidents in Ahmedabad.

H2 >Poor road conditions and inadequate signage might increase the likelihood of
accidents at specific locations.

H3 >Adverse weather conditions, such as heavy rainfall, could be a contributing factor

to road accidents.

H4 >The type and condition of vehicles may play a role in the severity of accidents.

H5 >Implementing stricter traffic regulations and improving infrastructure can

potentially reduce the frequency of road accidents.
SECONDARY
Data of road accidents in wet season conditions in Ahmedabad in the last 5 years:

Analysis:
DATA
>The number of road accidents in Ahmedabad during the wet season has increased by 58% in the last 5 years.
>The number of fatalities has also increased by 60% during the same period.
>Two-wheelers are involved in the majority of road accidents during the wet season, accounting for over 60% of
all accidents.
>The most common causes of road accidents during the wet season are overspeeding, skidding, and reckless
driving.

Recommendations:
>Drivers should slow down and exercise caution while driving during the wet season.
>Two-wheeler riders should wear helmets and avoid riding in heavy rain.
>Pedestrians should be careful while crossing the road and use zebra crossings whenever possible.
>The traffic police should take steps to decongest roads and enforce traffic rules more strictly during the wet
season.
SECONDARY DATA
Data of road accidents due to bad road in Ahmedabad in the last 5 years
Analysis
>The number of road accidents due to bad roads in Ahmedabad has been increasing steadily in the last 5
years, with a 3.1% increase from 2018 to 2022.
>The number of deaths and injuries due to these accidents has also increased, with a 1.2% increase in
deaths and a 1.9% increase in injuries from 2018 to 2022.
>Two-wheeler riders are the most vulnerable group of road users, accounting for over 40% of the deaths
and injuries due to bad roads.
>The most common types of accidents due to bad roads are potholes, uneven surfaces, and missing road
signs.

The following measures can also be taken to reduce the number of road accidents due to bad
roads:
>Conduct regular inspections of roads to identify and repair potholes and other defects.
>Install speed breakers and rumble strips in areas where accidents are common.
>Improve the lighting of roads, especially at night.
>Educate road users about the dangers of bad roads and how to drive safely on them.
