INTRODUCTION
Langkawi, officially known by its title Langkawi, the Langkawi surrounded by turquoise sea , the interior of
Jewel of Kedah, is a duty-free island and an the main island is a mixture of picturesque paddy fields
archipelago of 99 islands (plus five small islands and jungle-clad. Langkawi’s geological landscape
visible only at low tide in the Strait of Malacca) comprises five key rock formations known as
located some 30 km off the coast of northwestern Machinang, Setul, Singa, Chuping and igneous rock of

• Administrative district of Kedah, with Kuah
as its largest town, Pantai Cenang is the
island’s most popular beach and tourist area.
• Langkawi means the island of the reddish-
brown eagle , a Brahminy kite colloquial
Malay. The Malay word eagle is helang
(colloquially shortened to lang) and kawi is a
red stone used as a chalk to mark goods.
• This interpretation was used to create the
landmark sculpture of an eagle as the symbol
of Langkawi at Dataran Helang (Eagle
Square) in Kuah.

GUA KELAWAR
The geopark includes Gua Kelawar in Kilim, Pulau Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia. Tourists may reach Gua
Kelawar by boat from the Tanjung Rhu jetty or via the recently constructed bridge at the Sungai Kilim jetty.
Gua Kelawar has been a popular tourist destination due to its uniqueness in possessing karst formations in
limestone caverns as well as diverse kinds of bats.

MAKAM MAHSURI
Makam Mahsuri is thought to be the burial site of Mahsuri binti Pandak Maya in Langkawi Island, Kedah.
Makam Mahsuri was restored and outfitted with a museum, traditional theatre, and a Kedah home that
resembled the popular Langkawi-made houses at the period, which was supposed to have been erected on the
previous location of Mahsuri's house. The building also has a well known as "Perigi Mahsuri."

Pantai Cenang is the busiest beach town on Langkawi Island, where you can find a diverse mix of cafes and restaurants, as

RIDE THE SKYCAB CABLE CAR

The Langkawi Cable Car, also known as Langkawi


SkyCab, is one of the major attractions in Langkawi
Island, Kedah, Malaysia. It provides an aerial link
from the Oriental Village at Teluk Burau to the peak
of Gunung Machinchang, which is also the location
of the Langkawi Sky Bridge. The total length is 2.2
km (1.4 mi), with a journey time from the base to the
top of around 15 minutes. It was officially opened in
2003.

which is a Malaysian ‘must do’. Known
collectively as Kilim Karst Geoforest Park, the
mangroves span around 100 square kilometres

Langkawi has many natural ‘attractions’ to visit


including several waterfalls dotted all around
the main island. The most famous one are the
Telaga Tujuh waterfalls – the name meaning
‘Seven Wells Waterfalls’, referring to seven
natural pools that are fed by seven separate
waterfalls in Mount Mat Cincang.

In conclusion, Pulau Langkawi is a must place visit in Malaysia. Langkawi is a very nice and beautiful
place to visit. As an island, Langkawi is full of hidden treasures that are bound to make an epic
holiday escape. With breathtaking waterfalls, landscapes and adventure packed activities, this
premium getaway is full of exciting opportunities. Pulau Langkawi are so special because it has a laid-
back atmosphere that makes it very different from other parts of Malaysia, and many people flock
