rise of new kings and queens.

• King henry tudor in 1485 took the throne as Henry VII.

• During Henry VII reign he build up the nations economy


and financed expeditions that established the English
claims in the Americas.

• While England was a catholic empire and allied with the catholic church he could not marry
again. So king Henry VII broke ties with the church and became the religious leader of England
allowing him to divorce Catherine of Aragon and marry lady Ane Boleyn.

• Henry VIII had a son with another of his six wives who became king
Edward VI. He took the throne at 9 years old and died at 15.
• After the death of Henry VIII son Edward VI his daughter Mary also
daughter of Henrys first wife Catherine of Aragon who became the
first queen regnant of England.

was catholic unlike his father
and the nation at the time. After
Marys death her sister Elizabeth
