OBJECTIVE OF PERGOVERIS PEN
◦ To stimulate the development of follicles (each containing an egg)
in women ovaries.
◦ It is for use in adult women (18 years old or above) who have low
levels (severe deficiency) of “follicle stimulating hormone” (FSH)
and “luteinising hormone”(LH).
HOW PERGOVERIS WORK
◦ Pergoveris are copies of the natural hormones FSH and LH. In
women body:
-FSH stimulates the production of eggs.
-LH stimulates the release of the eggs.

450IU+225IU and 900IU + 450IU

NURSES RESPONSIBILITIES
◦ Encourage patient to hand wash before medication preparation.
◦ Ensure and inform patient how to storage the injection drug, keep all the injection drug in the
fridge(NOT IN FREEZER) @ 2’-8’ C.
◦ Ensure patient to keep this medicine where children cannot reach it.
◦ Explain and demo the injection drug to patient and husband how to use S/C PERGOVERIS injection.
◦ Encourage patient to bring all injection pens with balance of drugs in ice pack when patient come to
clinic.
◦ Ensure and remind patient to proper needle disposed.
SIDE EFFECT USING S/C
PERGOVERIS
◦ Headache, dizziness
◦ Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal
◦ Discomfort, abdominal distension,
◦ Abdominal pain
◦ Signs of allergic reactions, including swelling of the face, lips, tongue or other
parts of the body; shortness of breath, wheezing or difficulty breathing; severe
skin rash, itching or hives.
◦ Tell your doctor if you notice anything else that is making you feel unwell and
immediately go to Hospital(Emergency).
