Document Windows
Menu Bar:
• Located at the top of the application window.
• Contains dropdown menus for various commands and options,
organized into categories like File, Edit, Image, Layer, Select, Filter,
View, Window, and Help.
Options Bar:
• Below the menu bar.
• Displays context-sensitive options and settings for the currently selected
tool. These options change depending on the tool you are using.
Panels and Docking Stations:
• Located on the right side of the application window.
• These panels provide access to various functions and information, such
as Layers, Channels, Paths, History, and many more. You can customize
your workspace by rearranging and docking panels according to your
workflow.
Document Window:
• The central area of the interface.
• This is where you open and work on your images. You can have
multiple document windows open simultaneously.
Toolbox (Toolbar):
• Positioned on the left side of the application window.
• Contains a wide range of tools for tasks like selection, painting,
retouching, and more. Users can select and activate tools as needed.
1. Selection Tools
• Marquee Tools: Used for making rectangular or elliptical selections.
• Lasso Tools: Used for freehand selections.
• Magic Wand: Selects pixels with similar color or tone.
• Quick Selection: Quickly selects objects by dragging.
• Crop Tool: Cuts away parts of an image.
2. Retouching and Painting Tools:
• Brush Tool: Used for painting, retouching, and creating artistic
effects.
• Clone Stamp Tool: Copies one area of an image to another.
• Eraser Tool: Erases parts of an image or a layer.
• Blur, Sharpen, and Smudge Tools: Used to adjust focus and
texture.
• Dodge and Burn Tools: Lightens or darkens specific areas.
3. Text and Type Tools:
• Type Tool: Adds horizontal or vertical text.
• Horizontal and Vertical Type Mask Tools: Create selections
in the shape of text.
• Path Selection and Direct Selection Tools: Used with vector
shapes and paths.
4.Drawing and Navigation Tools:
• Pen Tool: Creates paths and shapes.
• Shape Tools: Draws shapes like rectangles, ellipses, and polygons.
• Line Tool: Draws straight lines.
• Hand Tool: Navigates around the image.
• Zoom Tool: Zooms in and out of the image.
5. Color and 3D Tools:
• Eyedropper Tool: Samples colors from the image.
• Color Sampler Tool: Measures colors in the image.
