4 – DRIVING SAFETY

Elements of UEP driving/vehicle safety

The following 10 Driving Standard elements apply to every UEPL employee who drives on company
business and to every UEPL vehicle. Laws and rules must be followed.
Vehicle prerequisites:
● The vehicle is fit for its purpose and has functional seatbelts
● Don't exceed manufacturer's passenger limit
● Loads are secure and don't exceed manufacturer and legal limits
UEPL Driver Standards:
● They're licensed, trained, and medically able to drive
● Well-rested and alert
● They don't use a phone or two-way gadget while driving
● In high-risk areas, journey hazards are assessed and managed
● All vehicle occupants must wear seatbelts when in motion
● They're not impaired by drink, drugs, or other substances Approximately 1.35 million
