Melody

Melody – in music refers to the pleasing,
recognizable succession of tones in a song
- It is an expression of the composer’s
thoughts and ideas.
-It is the horizontal part in musical
composition, which refers to the up and
down movement of tones in the scale
IMPORTANT OF MELODY
- The songs of our country are part of the
history of our country. Many Filipino composers
make melodies about love of country. They also
create melodies about how beautiful our country
is.

phrases and rhythmic phrases
are?
Let’s recall what melody and
rhythm mean..
Melody is the song’s tune.
Rhythm is the song’s beat.
Melodic phrases are groups of
pitches or melodic lines that
convey a musical idea which
can be performed with
without combination of other
melodic lines of the song.
Rhythmic phrases are beat
patterns that can be
performed alone or in
combination with other
beat patterns of the song.
What is Intervals – is the
distance between two
given notes or the
differences in pitch
between any two tones.
The interval could be the
following:
Harmonic interval – are
the notes arranged
vertically
Melodic Intervals- are the
notes arranged
horizontally.
The notes in 1st meter are arrange
in one line,we say that it is in the
Prime interval or unison
In 2nd meter, what is the position of
two notes? 3rd meter, 4th meter ,5th
meter, 6th meter, 7th meter 8th meter
