BRUSHLESS MOTOR

What is a BRUSHLESS MOTOR?

A brushless motor is a direct current (DC) electric motor that
operates without the mechanical brushes and commutator of a
traditional brush motor. It has distinct advantages over a brush
motor and is more economical in the long run, although the
initial costs are higher. Brushless motors are used in various
aspects of trenchless construction.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

 The working principle of a BLDC motor is based on the

interaction between a magnetic field generated by the stator and
a magnetic field generated by the rotor. The stator consists of a
series of electromagnets that are arranged in a circular pattern
around the rotor.
Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages:
 Noiseless
 Efficient
 Maintenance free
 Can be used in flammable environment
 Long life span

Disadvantages:
 Requires a controller
 Has a higher overall cost
