Negative Impacts

• Lopsided empowerment- has positive impact only for middle income and above groups

• “remaining work”- Saving wage costs

• Lack of diversified jobs

• Traditional gender roles still exist

• New forms of discrimination

• Women’s health- beauty standards

• Migration leading to exploitation and vulnerability to violence

• Globalisation becoming americanisation/westernization- Western feminism thrusted upon east
