DANCE

There are 4 forms of modern
dance which are;
• HIP HOP

• LYRICAL

• FREESTYLE and,
• FUSION
HIP HOP
Hip Hop is a unique and exciting
style of street dance that is most
commonly performed to hip-hop
music. Hip-hop dance is a vibrant
form of dance that combines a variety
of freestyle movements to create a
cultural piece of art.
Hip Hop has three main styles which
includes;
 Locking – is a stopping of movement right in the middle of a quick
movement and holding that position for a moment before flowing
back into your dance.

 Popping – this is characterized by sudden tensing and releasing of the


muscles to the rhythm of beats in music.

 Breaking – break dancing, also called as B-boying, energetic form of


dance, fashioned and popularized by Africans Americans and Latinos,
that includes styled footwork and athletic moves such as back spins
or head spins.
LYRICAL
oLyrical dance is a dance style that embodies various
aspects of ballet, jazz, and acrobatics.

• Ballet

• Jazz

• Acrobatics
FREESTYLE
• Freestyle dancing, sometimes referred to as street dancing, is a
unique type of dance that is based on improvisation rather than
the choreography seen in other dance varieties.
FUSION
• Fusion dance is today’s modernistic blend of dance movement to
several types of music. It may involve creating a new dance style,
recreating an already established dance style, combining existing
styles of movement, or any combination of the above.
