Some Concept of Topology

Topology
 it is the mathematical study of
the properties that are preserved
through deformations, twisting,
and stretching of objects.
Topological Equivalence
 Two spaces are topologically equivalent if one
can be formed into the other without tearing
edges, puncturing holes, or attaching non
attached edges.
 So a circle, a triangle and a square are all
equivalent
Not Topologically Equivalent

A circle and a figure 8 are NOT topologically


equivalent- you can continuously transform the
circle to the figure 8, but not the figure 8 to a
circle

 Theseexamples are straightforward, as they can
be easily visualized in three dimensional space.
Two other topological spaces which can be formed
a square are less to understand.
