EYES


The Holi colours are made up of hazardous
chemicals like mercury, asbestos, silica, mica, and
lead which are toxic to eyes. "Eye problems like
allergies, corneal abrasion conjunctivitis, and
eye injuries are seen.
RESPIRATORY DISEASES

 Holicolour can also lead to respiratory problems.


The colour can enter the mouth and aggravate
conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) which can
lead to wheezing, coughing, and mucus (sputum)
production. Chromium invites bronchitis, asthma,
and allergies.
SKIN

 Holi colours have heavy metals, broken pieces of


glasses, chemicals, and pesticides in them. A
majority of people complain of bacterial skin
infections, skin allergies or contact dermatitis,
rashes, itching, burning sensation, and hives after
playing with Holi color.

RESPIRATORY DISEASES

 Italso causes congestion of throat and chest.


During Diwali, the levels of suspended particulate
matter increase. When people are exposed to
these pollutant particles, they may suffer from
eye, nose, and throat related problems.
ENVIRONMENTAL

 Air pollution level rises extremely high during


the Diwali festival. The smoke emitted by
burning fire crackers makes the air harmful to
breathe. The effects of burning large number of
crackers on Diwali can be felt even days after. It
is known to cause various diseases.
