WORLD HEART DAY


The World Heart Foundation selected
29th September as World Heart Day to
raise awareness of the cardiovascular
disease (CVD) around the globe. Heart
disease continues to be the number one
cause of death in many countries, so it’s
important to identify any concerns and
maintain a healthy heart.
As heart-related illnesses are a
worldwide concern, this global event
serves as a united movement to
achieve victory over cardiovascular
ailments
WORLDWIDE STASTICAL DATA
Cardiovascular diseases ( CVDs)are the
leading causes of death globally , taking an
estimated 17.9 million lives each year .
CVDs are group of disorder of the heart
and blood vessels which include coronary
heart disease, cerebrovascular disease,
rheumatic heart diseases and other
conditions.

More than 4 out of 5 CVDs deaths
are due to heart attack and stroke
and one third of these deaths occur
prematurely in people under 70
years of age.
IN INDIA
• The annual number of deaths from CVD in
India is projected to rise from 2.26 million to
4.77 million.
• Coronary heart disease prevalence rates in
India have been estimated over the past several
decades and have ranged from 1.6% to 7.4%
in rural population and from 1% to 13.2%in
urban population.
• World heart day is an opportunity for everyone
to stop and consider how best to use heart for
humanity, for nature and for you
• The world heart day celebrated every year on
29 September .
