Statistical Treatment
is when you apply a statistical
method to a data set to draw
meaning from it.
What is statistical Treatment in Reseach

is when you apply some form of

statistical method to a data set to
transform it from a group of
meaningless numbers into
meaningful output.
Descriptive Statistics
• summarize or describe feature of data
set such as its central tendency or
dispersion
Mean- is determined by adding up all of the
scores or values in the distribution and then
dividing this sum by the total number of
scores or values ,where ;
 X = sum of all the scores or values
in the distribution; and

 n — total number of scores in the

distribution.
Median- is the middle value in a
set of data.
Mode- is the most frequent score
or value in the distribution. Either
unimodal, bimodal or multimodal.
The Standard Deviation
• is a measure of the amount of variation or
dispersion of a set of values. A low
standard deviation indicates that the
values tend to be close to the mean of the
set, while a high standard deviation
indicates that the values are spread out
over a wider range
The Variance
variance is the expectation of
the squared deviation from the
mean of a random variable. The
standard deviation is obtained
as the square root of the
variance.
• to draw conclusions and make
inferences about the larger population
based on your sample data.
