R.A Kartini
Raden Adjeng Kartini was born in Jepara
on 21 April 1876. She comes from a noble
family. Her father, Raden Mas Adipati Ario
Sosroningrat is a regent who governed
Jepara at that time. While her mother, MA
Ngasirah descended from the common
people. She is the 5th child of 11 brothers
and sisters coming from her biological and
stepmother. R.A Kartini studied in the ELS
School (Europese Lagere School). She
studied Dutch language there, so that she
could speak Dutch language very well.

In commemoration of R.A Kartini's
legacy, an annual event called 'Kartini Day'
is celebrated across Indonesia every April
21st. This event serves as a tribute to the
remarkable achievements and pioneering
spirit of this prominent figure. It brings
together communities, schools, and
organizations to honor her contributions
towards women's empowerment and
education. During Kartini Day, various
activities such as seminars, exhibitions, and
cultural performances are held, shedding
light on her progressive ideas and the
importance of gender equality.

numerous schools and institutions bear her

Additionally, various initiatives and

century ago. Her enduring legacy serves as
a testament to the power of one individual's
ideas to shape a nation's destiny.

R.A Kartini, an Indonesian national heroine, left
an indelible mark on history through her
impassioned letters and revolutionary ideas. Born in
1879 in Java, Indonesia, Kartini's correspondence
with friends and family revealed her profound
insights into women's rights and education. Her
letters, compiled into a book titled "Habis Gelap
Terbitlah Terang" or "Out of Darkness Comes
Light," became a beacon of enlightenment. They
advocated for the empowerment of Indonesian
women, urging them to break free from societal
constraints and pursue education and self-
improvement.

In 13 september 1904 she gave a birth to her
son his name was singgih. But after giving birth
to a son, her condition was getting worse and
she finally passed away on 17 september 1904
on her 25 years old. Now kartini has gone. But
her spirit and dream will always be in our heart.
Nowadays indonesian women progress is
influenced by kartini's spirit stated on collection
of letter habis gelap terbitlah terang from the
dusk to the dawn.
