Analytic Instruments
Instruments that are used to analyze various
measurements of the various parameters of the
human body

• Chromatography Columns
• Electrophoresis analysis instruments
• Gas Chromatography equipment
• Particle Analysis

Blood Chemistry
Analyzer
A blood chemistry analyzer is used to determine
components in blood. Blood chemistry analyzer may be
used to test for many things, such as blood cell counts,
therapeutic drug monitoring, illegal drug use, blood
typing, protein analysis etc.
Chromatography
Column
Chromatography is a preparative technique used to
purify compounds depending on their polarity or
hydrophobicity. In column chromatography, a mixture
of molecules is separated based on their differentials
partitioning between a mobile phase and a stationary
phase
Electrophoresis Analysis
Instruments
Electrophoresis analysis is a method that is used to
separate proteins of differing sizes and/or charges. A
sample of the protein, often DNA or RNA, is placed in
wells at one end of a gel. An electric current is applied
that repels the proteins and causes them to move down
the gel.
PCR technology

Polymerase chain reaction (abbreviated PCR)

is a laboratory technique for rapidly producing
(amplifying) millions to billions of copies of a
specific segment of DNA, which can then be
studied in greater detail.
Imaging Instruments
This field combines knowledge of unique physical properties of
electromagnetic and acoustic energy with high-speed electronic data
processing, signal analysis, and rapid display to generate an image of a
body part or, more

• X ray
• CT Scan
• MRI
• Ultrasound Scan
• Radioisotope scanning
X-Ray
• X-rays use invisible electromagnetic energy beams
to produce images of internal tissues, bones, and
organs on film or digital media
• Main 4 components
• The tube
• The operating console
• The high voltage section
• The film holder, table
CT scan

CT scan is a diagnostic imaging procedure that uses a

combination of X-rays and computer technology to
produce images of the inside of the body.
Main 3 components
• Scanner system (X-Ray, Detector, Collimators, Filters)
• Patient's table
• Computer
MRI scans

• MRI scanner is a medical imaging technique that uses a magnetic

field and computer-generated radio waves to create detailed images
of the organs and tissues in body.
• Doesn’t involve radioactivity or ionizing radiation
• Can only see only hydrogen-based object.
• Key components
• Magnet
• Radio waves
• Gradient
• Computer

• MRI scan can provide information about the blood circulating

through the body and blood vessels.
Diagnosis Instruments
Biomedical instruments are fundamental to
successful medical practice. Medical instruments
are devices intended to diagnose, treat, or monitor
the patient under medical supervision.
Digital Thermometer
Ophthalmoscopes
used to detect and evaluate symptoms of retinal
detachment or eye diseases such as glaucoma.
Ophthalmoscopy may also be done if you have signs or
symptoms of high blood pressure, diabetes, or other
diseases that affect the blood vessels
