CASTLE
▰ Osaka Castle is a
castle located in
Osaka, Japan.
Originally named
Ōzaka-jō, it is one of
the most famous
castles in the
country.

ant role in the
unification of Japan
during the Azuchi-
Momoyama period
of the 16th century.

platforms of filled
land, with walls
made of cut stones,
and is surrounded by
a well with water in
a similar way to
European castles.
The castle has eight
interior floors.

gathering point
during hanami
festivities, which take
place during the
cherry blossom
period in Japan.

Hideyoshi begins
erecting the castle in
the area where
Ishiyama Hongan-ji's
Ikkō-ikki Temple
formerly stood.

aspects.
