TEXT?
Text given in a sequential or chronological manner, usually from
start to finish, is referred to as linear text.

It progresses linearly, much like when you read a book or article when ideas or sentences flow naturally from one to
the next. Non-linear or hypertextual text is in contrast to linear text in that it allows the reader to engage with the
content in a non-sequential way by clicking on links or accessing different portions.
HOW IS LINEAR TEXT USEFUL?

Linear text may provide information in a systematic and sequential manner,

allowing for a cohesive and orderly flow of ideas.

Authors can create coherent tales in this conventional framework, which makes it simpler for readers to follow a logical flow of ideas
or events. For educational materials, linear text works especially well since it breaks down information for pupils to understand and
retain in a step-by-step manner. Furthermore, linear text's sequential structure improves readability and comprehension since it
corresponds with how humans naturally digest information. Its uncomplicated form makes citation and referencing easier, which makes
it a useful option for academic and professional writing. Although non-linear formats have become more popular in the digital age,
linear text is still a vital and adaptable tool.
EXAMPLE OF LINEAR TEXT
There are many different types of written communication that use linear text, where information
is presented in an orderly and systematic way.

Conventional novels and short stories are prime examples of linear writing, following a story from start to
finish. Academic textbooks have a linear format that presents material in a methodical way to help students
understand it by moving from one idea to another logically. Newspaper articles follow a linear text pattern,
giving readers information and news stories to read in order. Linear text is frequently used in essays, research
papers, and technical manuals to communicate ideas, conclusions, or instructions in an understandable and
structured way. Furthermore, official documents and corporate reports usually follow a linear pattern to make
information easy to understand.
