The Study of Humankind
E X P L A N AT I O N

Since Humankind is a complex subject to

study, it is usually broken down into
more smaller and manageable topics.
Studying Humankind reveals how
humans progress throughout time in
their given environments. This gives us a
deeper understanding of our natural
behavior as humans.
ANTHROPOLOGISTS

Anthropologists are the people who

have graduated from university in
pursuit to study the nature of
humankind throughout the course of
time.
4 Divisions of
Anthropology
Anthropology has 4 divisions which are:
Cultural Anthropology
Biological Anthropology
Linguistic Anthropology
Archeologic Anthropology
Cultural
Anthropolog
y
This area of study focuses on cultures and
societies, looking at how people interact,
communicate, and live in their social settings.
Cultural anthropologists carry out ethnographic
research to comprehend the cultural customs,
expectations, assumptions, and values of various
groups. They shed light on how societies adapt and
change over time and help us appreciate the
diversity of human cultural expressions by
studying various societies.
Archaeology
The study of ancient human societies through
the examination of artifacts, buildings, and
other evident remains is known as
a r c h a e o l o g y. T h e d a i l y r o u t i n e s , t e c h n o l o g i e s ,
economies, and social structures of ancient
civilizations are reconstructed with the aid of
archaeologists. Through their work, we can
learn about our ancestors, follow the
evolution of human societies, and
c o m p r e h e n d h o w h u m a n t e c h n o l o g y, a r t , a n d
social structures have changed over time.
Linguistic
Anthropology
This subfield examines how language shapes and
reflects culture, identity, and communication.
Linguistic anthropologists study languages, dialects,
and communication patterns to understand how
people express themselves, convey knowledge, and
pass down traditions. They contribute to our
understanding of the role language plays in shaping
our perception of the world and the ways in which
languages evolve and interact.
Biological Anthropology

closest relatives. Biological anthropologists
research the physical adaptations that have
allowed humans to survive and flourish, as
well as human evolution, genetics, and
