• The principal method of human communication,
consisting of words used in a structured and
conventional way and conveyed by speech, writing,
or gesture (Oxford Dictionary).
• Language—more specifically human language—
refers to the grammar and other rules and norms
that allow humans to make utterances and sounds
in a way that others can understand (John
