I.Introduction
Wheather, climate and water are
interconnected and influence each other in
various ways.
Change in one can impact others and
understanding these relationships is
crucial for ensure sustainable management
of water resources.
These elements have been changing across
generations due to various factors such as
human activities, natural processes and
global events.

II. Climate change
Climate change refers to changes in the Earth's climate system that
have been occurring over the past century or longer.
Changes in the Earth's climate system can lead to changes in
weather patterns and can affect the amount and distribution of
precipitation. They also lead to rising sea levels and increasing
temperatures.
The main cause of climate change is the greenhouse effect. Many
greenhouse gases are naturally, but human activities have increased
the concentration of some of them.
This is especially the case for:
• the burning of fossil fuels for the production of electricity,
transport, industry and households;
• changes in agriculture and land use, such as deforestation;
• waste storage.

BELOW I PRESENT TO YOU HOW WATER, WEATHER AND CLIMATE ARE
AFFECTED BY CLIMATE CHANGE:

III. How the average global temperature has risen
over the past nearly 200 years

As we can see in the image of

the graph presented, the
average temperature at the
Earth's surface has increased
by 0.07 degrees Celsius every
ten years, especially in the
period 1936-2020 in which,
as we can clearly see, the
greatest and constant
increases were recorded.

Climate change is a very serious threat and its consequences affect many aspects of our lives.

human health, but also to animal and plant health);

• floods exposed to the effects of climate change. Moreover, they
have less ability to cope with them);
• sea level rise and coastal areas
• Employment (the impact of rising temperatures,
changing precipitation regimes or rising sea levels will
affect – directly or indirectly – the productivity and
viability of all economic sectors in all EU Member States,
with implications for the labor market).
