Background of the Study
■ Income inconsistency remains as one of the most serious
issues confronting Filipino households.

■ Income is the cash received by an individual or


organization in return for their services or goods.

■ The term "inconsistency" refers to something, such as an


idea, statement, or argument, having the quality of certain
concepts, statements, and arguments that do not agree
with others.
Background of the Study
■ Income inconsistency has been linked to a variety of
health and social problems, but the consequences of
income inconsistency for academic performance have not
been studied as fully as other sectors.

■ Wealth and income largely define the educational gap


today more than race and ethnicity.

■ “The educational attainment gap has deep roots; it is


evident very early in children's lives; even before they
reach schools."

Research Design
The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship
between Income Inconsistency and Academic Performance of
Grade 12 HUMSS-B Students at ICNHS. In this study, the
researchers will utilize the correlational research design. The
independent variables are sex and socio-economic status and
the dependent variables are Income Inconsistency and
Academic Performance of Grade 12 HUMSS-B Students.
Methods
• Sampling Technique

The respondents of this study will be the 56 Grade 12


Humanities and Social Sciences- B Students of Iloilo City
National High School who will be chosen randomly from a
total population of 65 enrolled during the academic year
2022-2023. Random Sampling will be employed in the
selection of the respondents of the study. The Lottery
technique will be used.

Methods
Data Gathering Instrument

This study will utilize a researcher-made


instrument. This will be divided into 2 parts.

Part One will be the Personal Data Sheet.

Part Two will be composed of the 10-item Income


Inconsistency Questionnaire.
Methods
• Data Collection Method

The study will be conducted during the second


semester of the academic year 2022-2023. The permission to
conduct the study will be secured from the Office of the
Principal of Iloilo City National High School. Data needed
for this correlational research will be gathered using a
questionnaire. After retrieving the questionnaire, the data
will be analyzed statistically to generate results.
Methods
• Data Analysis Method

The data obtained in this investigation will be


subjected to descriptive and inferential statistical analysis
using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
The statistical tools to be used will be the mean, Standard
Deviation (SD), t-test, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA),
and Pearson’s r.
